Organization¶
Overview¶
The Organization feature in the GPU Cloud portal allows users to effectively manage resources, billing, and collaboration across multiple members. Organizations are similar to "Teams" but provide more robust control over access, permissions, and resource sharing to better accommodate the needs of larger groups or companies.
Info
This document will guide you through setting up and managing an organization, adding members, assigning roles, and effectively utilizing your GPU resources in a shared environment.
Creating an Organization¶
To create an Organization in the GPU Cloud portal:
- Log in to your GPU Cloud account.
- Click on your user avatar at the top-right corner.
- Select Organizations from the dropdown menu.
- Click Create Organization.
- Enter a name for your Organization and any relevant details.
- Click Create to finalize your Organization setup.
Tip
Once the Organization is created, you will be redirected to the Organization management page where you can begin adding members and managing your resources.
Inviting Members to Your Organization¶
To invite new members to join your Organization:

- Click on the Members tab.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Assign a role to the member (e.g., Admin, Member, Viewer).

Roles and Permissions¶
The Organization feature provides three predefined roles to manage access and permissions:
Has full access to manage resources, billing, and members within the Organization.
Can create and manage cloud resources, but does not have access to billing or member management.
Has read-only access to view resources, usage, and activity within the Organization.
Tip
Admins can change member roles at any time by visiting the Members tab and editing the role assigned to a particular member.
Managing Resources within an Organization¶
Shared Resources¶
All resources (e.g., instances, storage, networks) created within an Organization can be shared among its members based on their roles. This allows for efficient collaboration and eliminates the need for duplicated resources.
Admins and Members can create, monitor, and manage instances or datasets that other members can also access, depending on the assigned permissions.
Resource Groups¶
Admins can organize resources into Resource Groups to better manage access and control costs. For example, creating separate resource groups for different projects or departments makes it easier to monitor usage and allocate GPU resources effectively.
Billing and Cost Management¶
Centralized Billing¶
Summary
Organizations use centralized billing, allowing all costs incurred by the Organization's resources to be consolidated under a single account. This simplifies expense tracking and provides transparency into GPU usage across the entire Organization.
Admins can view detailed billing reports and monitor spending from the Billing tab within the Organization.
Cost Allocation Tags¶
To keep track of spending on a per-project or per-department basis, you can use Cost Allocation Tags. Tags can be applied to resources when they are created, allowing you to easily break down costs in the billing reports.
Activity Logs¶
The Activity Logs feature allows you to track actions taken within the Organization. This includes resource creation, member management, and billing updates. Logs can be filtered by action type, date, and member to make it easier to review and audit activities.
Frequently Asked Questions¶
